Falling, For Real
Title: Falling, For Real
Author: Katy
Rating: ummm, PG? G?
Summary: "this is only a facsimile of falling"
Notes: Not as vague as my first poem. Orli's POV, which is fairly obvious, but could be anyone else. However, I'm partial to Viggorli, so that's what I was thinking while writing.
Feedback: Is muchly appreciated. *gives everyone puppy-dog eyes*
1.
this is only a facsimile of falling
a poor substitute
way to pretend
at giving in to gravity
if i can't have
it in truth
2.
you say i'm reckless
fearless
boundless hope
and energy
i'm not at all
what you think because
i can't really dive
into the truly deep
and terrifying end
can only watch from
planned-danger
vantage points as
others leap
with closed eyes
3.
how do you fall?
don't you hurt and break
crumble to pieces each
time you land?
and find that
putting things back
as they were
is undoable?
fear that nothing was
ever there?
i can't land on nothing
4.
though i want
so much so deep
down to go beneath
the fear rise
above and fall with
graceful optimism that
i'll be caught in
strong safety instead
5.
off bridges cliffs ledges
a jump
is just that but
off of the edge of
already broken
the courage is enough
to make my
knees shake insides roll
and becomes so much more
then a leap of faith:
a leap of love
