Dominic didn’t blink, he couldn’t. He just stared into his eyes, eyes that were so familiar and so strange at the same time, seemingly empty but filled with something unreachable and hidden, something that he wanted so desperately to know but would never be allowed to. Dom watched as his eyes became glassy, tears threatening to fall. He willed himself to move, but he was stuck, staring, knowing what was going to happen and he was helpless to stop it. Dom knew he shouldn’t have looked into those eyes in the first place, but now it was too late, and he was trapped. He didn’t want to feel what he saw in those eyes. Dom saw his lip tremble just for an instant before the tears cascaded down his pale face. He wanted to scream or throw something, anything to get away from those eyes, but he just kept staring as the world faded to black and all he could see was the face in front of him, tears falling from his despairing eyes.
“Are you almost ready? Dom turned away from the bathroom mirror and saw Elijah standing at the door.
He looked at Elijah for a few seconds, wondering if he was really there “Yeah…I... I just need to find my key” He pushed by Elijah and rummaged through his suitcase.
“Dom…were you crying?”
Dom grabbed the room key and headed towards the door. “Let’s go, Billy’s waiting” He said as he opened the door, not looking back and not giving Elijah an answer.
