The front door was left ajar, the backdoors were all wide open. Music thrummed throughout the entire house, a steady bass line with an interesting guitar rift repeating in a rather syncopated fashion. Catchy lyrics, an entire song made to sweep you in and hold you there. The televisions were on, the volume not even turned down but rather the music was turned up. Dom's laptop was left out on the coffee table of the living room, music playing from the mp3 player and drowned by the stereo system in the house. Icons bouncing from ignored applications on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
Dom was thinking.
Elijah knew it, Dom was the most annoying bastard to be around when he was trying to think of something. Everything had to be on, everything had to be doing something. Peering into his friend's bedroom, sure enough the video game was on and on pause. The man was insane, how he was still able to afford food after paying his electric bill was a miracle.
Where was Dom?
Dom was sitting in his bathtub, headphones on with yet more music playing. Eyes were closed, head bobbing as his tongue peaked out just a tiny bit between pursed lips. Fingers twitched, shoulders shifting as he danced while sitting down. Shit, even the water was running in the sink and the shower radio was on.
Everything was on!
Suddenly Dom opened his eyes, tearing the headphones from his ears and tossing them down into the dry tub as he scrambled to his feet. Shoving Elijah out of the doorway as he darted into his bedroom and onto the bed. Clambering over it to land on the floor on the other side with a thud before he began to feverishly scribble down an idea to be forever unknown to Elijah and the world.
"Dom, I'll never know how you think with all of this noise," Elijah shook his head, rubbing his shoulder from where he'd slammed into the wall.
"And that is why you shall never understand the cleverness of me," Dom quipped as he started around the house to turn everything but the video game and stereo off. "Oh, the cleverness that is me..."
