It was love at first sight for Dominic. Elijah was just Dominic's type, with dark hair and fair skin, pretty features and beautiful eyes. Elijah had a great personality to boot, he got on well with just about everyone. With Sean he was mature and brotherly, with Billy curious and fun, with Viggo polite and interested. Too bad Elijah wasn't all that impressed with Dominic.

Dominic's disappointment started the first day in the make up trailer. Elijah stumbled into the room, chatted to Sean and ate porridge with Billy. Then, when all that was done, Elijah popped on the Pumpkins. Drowning out Dominic's attempt at small talk with electric guitar. Valiantly, Dominic attempted to continue, making faces of "Good Morning" and hand gestures of "So how are you finding your work?". But Elijah just put his head down on Dominic's armrest and promptly fell asleep.

The situation worsened. Dominic found that he was such a bore to Elijah that Elijah could not stop yawning whenever he came within 3ft of Dominic. They were in the middle of the cornfield scene. The sun was high in the sky. When they were changing reflectors, Dominic stole a couple of minutes to sidle closer to Elijah.

"What a nice day it is. Isn't New Zealand wonderful. But it is rather windy, ain't it. Oh wow, your wig look so pretty on you," Dominic blathered nervously. "Do you want to go and have a drink after work?"

Elijah stretched his mouth wide and stifled a huge yawn with his hand. "Mm-hmm, what did you say Dom?"

"Nothing," Dominic scratched his nose and fled.

A couple of days after that, Dominic worked up his courage once again. He'd gotten a few positive signs from Elijah that week. Elijah had started lending Dominic CDs. Dominic read the titles of the albums and tried to work out if there was a secret message of love. (Unfortunately, Dominic got "Head Like A Hole - NIN", "War - U2" and "Mellon Chollie and the Infinite Sadness".) But Elijah liked to catnap, sat next to Dominic in the make up trailer and Dominic found the way Elijah snuffled into Dominic's shirt awfully sweet.

Over Feet, Dominic seized the opportunity of hairification to squeeze Elijah's elbow, making sure he was semi-conscious.

"Oopsie-daisy, sorry I grabbed you there. Oh your bone structure is so delicate. By the way, do you fancy going out for dinner sometime?" Dominic said in a rush. "My favourite curry is tandori chicken. I bet you like vindeloo."

Elijah blinked sleepily at Dominic and smiled, pointing to his ear. "I didn't hear a word you said, Dommie, my ear glue's still wet."

The next time, Dominic committed his thoughts to paper.

_ "I like the sound of your voice and your lithe figure. But its not just physical. I think you're talented and really very cool.

I want to be friends and maybe more. I'm really serious about this Elijah. If you kind of might want to pursue this can you please call me?

My number is #### ### ###"_

Dominic jogged up to Elijah at the mess tent and stuffed the note in his hand.

"Read it alone!" Dominic said urgently. "And then call the number."

"Okie-doke," Elijah said amicably, returning to his meal.

Elijah called Dominic at 11 pm that evening.

"Hello Dom, sorry I didn't call you till now," Elijah said. "An Orc knocked coffee over your note, I had to stick it on a monitor to dry. I can't read any of it though. I got your number off Billy."

"In that case, Elijah," Dominic said as calmly as he could. "Don't worry about it."

"Dominic, don't hang up yet," Elijah said. "Um, is everything all right?"

"Just peachy," Dominic said and hung up.

Dominic regretted his actions the next morning, when Elijah came into the trailer and didn't speak to him at all.

Dominic watched, slitty-eyed as Elijah and Billy walked off to set together chummily. Dominic's heart was wrenched when he said Elijah lean on Billy's shoulder when they stood up in Feet and close his eyes.

Dominic could take Elijah being friendly, vivacious or even flirtatious with other people. But Elijah's sleepy inattention was something Dominic considered his sole privilege. No one else could bore Elijah the way Dominic could. No one else has a right to making Elijah yawn so much his eyes wept.

Dominic stomped off in a sulk, off the side of the set under a flax. Dominic folded his arms and set his jaw, Dominic stared into the distance, at a cloudless sky and felt unaccountably tired.

When Dominic woke up from his doze, Elijah was lying at his feet, curled up in his costume and snoozing.

"Come on, you'll burn, and you'll freckle. Then I'd want to count them with kisses and you'd be all astounded. So no, must not let that happen. Isn't this much more comfortable?" Dominic pulled Elijah into the shade, Elijah whimpered and murmured groggily, Elijah twined his arms around Dominic's waist and pillowed his head in Dominic's lap.

Dominic stroked Elijah's cheek very lightly and kept still for the longest time in his whole life. Though his legs were killing him with pins and needles, despite the burgeoning hard-on in his pants.

After sword practice, Elijah went to Dominic's trailer. They'd been mucking about with one another all day.

"Oh look at you, all sweaty and sore. I think you need to be kneaded hard, face down! Um, that is we should get massages. Not that I'm suggesting we go to a massage parlor together. I haven't got that kind of money and it'd be odd sharing, don't you think?" Dominic rambled.

"Dommie, give me a massage," Elijah said, quite clearly. "Let's go to your trailer."

They went to the trailer Dominic shared with Billy. Billy was out visiting with Sean. Elijah went up to Dominic's bunk, took his shirt off and climbed on.

"Please use extra oil," said Elijah, putting his face down on his folded arms. "And I like it really hard."

Dominic began nice firm strokes. Dominic continued with a powerful pummeling. Then, when Dominic's began to perspire, he took off his shirt too.

To get better leverage and angle, Dominic got onto the bed and straddled Elijah's hips. Dominic sat down on Elijah's bottom.

"Wouldn't it be funny, if Billy came in now. We'd give people the wrong idea wouldn't we? Although, I have been thinking on that exact point. I was wondering if you might agree to making out with me now and then?" Dominic said and was sure he'd get a reply this time, if Elijah's happy moans were anything to go by.

"What do you say Lijah, some kisses on the sly and maybe a bit to touching on the side?" Dominic leaned down, his face burning and his hands fervent.

Elijah was deep asleep and drooling onto the pillow.

Dominic hung his head, his heart stopped its wild fluttering. Dominic grew misty eyed and had to wipe his eyes on the back of his hands.

"Never mind, I make you catatonic, I know," Dominic muttered.

"Mmm," Elijah moaned. "I didn't catch that, Dommieque."

Dominic sighed and began to get off Elijah.

"I fell asleep," Elijah said drowsily. "I keep doing that around you."

"I noticed," Dominic said downcast.

"Only because you give me the nicest dreams," Elijah's lashes fluttered and Elijah tucked his chin into his chest and smiled, his hand came up to clutch the pillow. "And that was just gorgeous. I dreamt I was making love in a river. And the sky was grey and just about to rain. It matched your eyes, Dommie and you were naked, golden and smooth to touch as river sand."

It was then affirmed to Dominic that for Elijah it was love at first snooze.

The end.
